South Penquite is a 200 acre working hill farm situated high on Bodmin Moor between the villages of Blisland and St Breward. We are a demonstration holding for both the Soil Association and the Westcountry Rivers Trust, and as well as offering camping & four Mongolian Yurts we have facilities for field studies and opportunities for educational groups and schools to learn about local environment.
There is much to do and see on and around the farm which achieved organic status in 2001. As well as running a flock of 200 ewes and a herd of 20 cows the farm is exceptionally rich in archaeological remains and wildlife. We also have many horses, ponies, chickens, geese, ducks and of course our faithful working collies without whose help we could not run the farm.
We offer luxury, dog friendly holiday cottages with access to around 100 acres of unspoilt woodland, river frontage and open pasture in the heart of north Cornwall. Our secluded, 5 Star, self-catering, luxury farm cottages are within easy travelling distance of all Cornwall's major attractions and many beautiful dog friendly beaches.
Helsbury is an ideal base from which to explore all that Cornwall has to offer from the drama of the moor to the beauty of the south west coastal path. You will not find higher quality, dog friendly holiday cottages anywhere in the UK.
We are located in a quiet, peaceful hamlet in the Tamar Valley, halfway between Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor and both coasts.

Valency is inspected regularly to affirm that we have maintained and improved our excellent standards.
However the most important and valuable measure of our success is undoubtedly the positive feedback we get from our guests.
You will find us secretly nestled into the entrance of the wooded Valency Valley just a few paces
from stunning Boscastle Harbour, the quaint Old Village and the dramatic South West Coastal Path.
Locally there are several beautiful churches, scenic walks, interesting shops and a variety of restaurants.
A short ride or long walk can take you to nearby Tintagel, Port Isaac or Crackington Haven. Whilst there is so much nearby, most areas of Cornwall and Devon are easily reached from here with their diversity of cliffs, beaches, moors, gardens, rivers and woodlands.
You will find towns and villages steeped in history and culture, offering entertainment, crafts, various sports and gastronomic delights.
We continue to be dedicated to sustainable practice and previously held a Cornwall Tourism Award and a Gold GTBS Award.
